Scam Alert: Toll Plaza Fraud at Airoli

During a recent journey from Airoli to Andheri, I encountered a troubling scam at the Airoli toll plaza, which is notorious for such incidents.

2. **Toll Plaza Accountability:** If a toll plaza cannot scan a valid Fastag due to system issues, the vehicle should be allowed to pass without any additional charges. It's unacceptable for drivers to be penalized due to faulty equipment or dishonest practices.

1. **Delayed SMS Notifications:** There is a noticeable delay in receiving transaction notifications from banks after Fastag scans. Given that this is a routine transaction, the process should be more efficient to prevent such situations.

This incident highlights two critical issues that need immediate attention:

Furious, I returned to the toll plaza to demand a refund. Initially, the staff denied any wrongdoing and became argumentative, but after a prolonged discussion, they eventually refunded the money.

However, just five minutes later, I received an SMS from my bank indicating that the Fastag had indeed been scanned and the toll amount debited.

Given the lineup of vehicles behind me and the absence of any SMS notification from my bank, I reluctantly paid the toll and continued on my way.

Despite having a valid Fastag with sufficient balance, the toll personnel manually operated the toll gate and claimed that my Fastag was not valid, insisting that I pay the toll in cash.

@mangalasery @Zoomcar_India @nitin_gadkari sir why are we not looking into this issue of rental bike and car companies not inspecting the cars and bike before delivery. These are long standing issues if you can just look at their twitter account you will find so many issues.
