NATURE: A juvenile Great White shark estimated at 6 to 8 feet ambushed a bait fish and ripped it clean in half right next to the boat. Then turned its attention to the propeller.

What you are seeing is the aftermath of pure predator instinct in action. Great White sharks do not distinguish between prey and machinery when they are locked in. In that moment the fishermen made the right call - stay calm, stay out of the water and let it pass.

Have you experienced something like this or similar?

Instincts matter on the water. When a Great White is that close to your vessel the smartest thing you can do is nothing. No sudden movements. No reaching over the side. No panic. The ocean is their territory. We are just visiting.
