I had a productive meeting with Somaliland President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi yesterday.

Somaliland has already established itself as a reliable partner for the United States on a range of issues, from countering terrorism to protecting shipping around the Horn of Africa. We discussed further strengthening the U.S.-Somaliland partnership.

I have been pushing the United States to deepen our partnership. I am committed to securing American recognition of Somaliland’s sovereignty and, in the meantime, I’m urging the State Department to stop treating Somaliland as the same as Somalia. The U.S. should establish a region-specific Travel Advisory specifically for Somaliland, which would reflect the reality on the ground.

I look forward to continuing our work to advance our shared security interests.

تدين دولة قطر اعتراف حكومة جمهورية كولومبيا بسيادة الاحتلال الإسرائيلي على هضبة الجولان السورية المحتلة، وتشدّد في هذا السياق على أن مساعدة الاحتلال على ازدراء القرارات الأممية ذات الصلة بهضبة الجولان المحتلة، وخصوصاً قرار مجلس الأمن رقم 497 لسنة 1981 لن تغير من حقيقة أن الهضبة أرض عربية محتلة، وأن فرض الاحتلال الإسرائيلي قوانينه وولايته وإدارته على الجولان يعد باطلاً ولاغياً ودون أي أثر قانوني.

وتجدّد وزارة الخارجية موقف دولة قطر المبدئي الثابت بأن هضبة الجولان أرض عربية محتلة، وتؤكد ضرورة امتثال الاحتلال الإسرائيلي لقرارات الشرعية الدولية بالانسحاب من كافة الأراضي العربية المحتلة، بما فيها هضبة الجولان، كما تحذّر من أن أية قرارات أحادية للاعتراف بسيادة الاحتلال على الجولان ستشكّل عائقاً كبيراً أمام السلام المنشود في المنطقة.
