In 1898 Lagos became the first city in West Africa to have electric street lights.
The rest of the continent was still negotiating infrastructure with colonial governments.
Lagos was already lit.
And the world still made it the footnote.
Never again.
Nobody warns you about Lagos noise 😭
The horns. The shouting. The music. The movement.

Jankara Market, Lagos
One of the oldest markets on Lagos Island, known for its second-hand goods and constant activity. Fires have happened here before… but the market always comes back.
That resilience? Very Lagos.

Most people don’t realize this, but Lagos really started growing from Apapa Wharf 🌍
Before the skyscrapers and traffic, this port connected the city to the world, goods, people, new ideas.
This is where the Lagos story really began 👀
Do you agree?
