Wknd🧵-Modi is not a CameraJeevi
Shame on haters who spread lies that Modi Ji always looks at the camera in every photo. It’s not true.
Here are 7 random proofs:
Proof 1/7
The plain humour between @_SandeepDikshit and @RahulGandhi was banter. A light stage moment meant to mock the idea that foreign policy equals photo-op hugs. Dikshit’s “Meloni samajh kar toh nahi pakda tha?” line and Rahul’s quick reply were the kind of casual, slightly cheeky exchange that happens in political rallies across parties when the crowd is already laughing.
Stretching it into a full-blown misogyny and sexism trial is what feels forced and overdone.
Most people watching the clip saw two men ribbing each other and taking a dig at a style of diplomacy they disagree with.
There was no graphic language, no personal attack on Meloni’s body or character, no suggestion that she is reduced to an object. It was a reference to the widely circulated images and memes about those particular hugs. Turning that into “sexualisation of a G7 leader” requires a very specific lens that many ordinary viewers simply do not share.
The people currently occupying the highest moral ground on this issue might usefully look in the mirror. Indian political discourse has long been full of far cruder, more personal, and more gendered attacks across party lines that rarely trigger the same volume of outrage. Selective sensitivity is not principle, it is performance.
When the same voices stay quiet on worse examples or suddenly discover “dignity of women” only when the target is convenient, the claim loses force.
Leaders do not invent public sentiment out of thin air. They often amplify what large sections of citizens already mutter, meme, or joke about in private and on social media. The Meloni-hug references were already floating around long before this stage exchange. Pretending that two politicians suddenly introduced a new form of sexism ignores how freely such commentary already circulates. That does not make every joke automatically wise or necessary, but it does mean the reaction is disproportionate to the actual content.
It was banter, it was stretched beyond recognition, there was no clear misogyny or sexism in the exchange itself, and the loudest moralisers would do well to apply their standards more evenly.
Politics without humour becomes pure sermonising, and that is usually worse than the occasional bad joke.
This is absolute cinema 🍿😂
Rahul Gandhi –– I will show you what foreign policy means for Modi
*He runs and hugs Sandeep Dixit*
Rahul Gandhi –– Modi thinks foreign policy is all about hugging leaders 🤣
Sandeep Dixit –– Did you do this like Meloni?
Rahul Gandhi –– No, i haven't reached that advancement yet 😭

This is also how 90% of all arguments on Twitter with andhbhakts look like.
