The thing with love nowadays is that everyone wants to play it safe. That way, if the relationship doesn’t work out, they can say, “At least I wasn’t cooking and cleaning” so the pain is a bit more bearable than if they had done everything and broken up later on.

Another angle is that they’re also playing it safe so their future partners won’t drag them or post about them with a false caption after the breakup, saying something like, “They were so desperate that they cooked, swept, and cleaned the whole time they were here”.
