Congrats to USA U19 captain Utkarsh Srivastava, who has been signed by Earby Cricket Club in northeast Lancashire (on the border with Yorkshire) to be their overseas pro for the summer of 2026. Earby CC is best known for producing former Lancs & England player Glen Chapple.

Pakistan beat Namibia by 102 runs, advance to the Super 8s. USA are officially out of the T20 World Cup, will have to go back to regional qualifying for the next edition along with Canada when only one Americas Regional berth will be available for 2028.

@PeterDellaPenna Simple! 💥🧐 Pakistan is always good for 1 upset 🫡😆

ADNIT JHAMB. 🛡️🇺🇸
 What a fight!
While others panicked, Jhamb put his head down, hands up & went to work. This isn't pretty cricket, it's a battle. And it's exactly what we need.
If he stays there, we have a total to bowl at.
BELIEVE! 🦅📈 #USAvBAN #U19Worldcup #Fightback"

[Akeem Dodson @IamSpoogy]

Was I right about this?💔
We are seeing a total mental freeze. Wickets falling, & No one is willing to absorb the pressure; everyone is trying to hit their way out of it.
There's still enough time to bat! Who's gonna stand UP! #batin🛑🇺🇸

The "Killer Instinct."
New Zealand are polite fellas. They'll wait for you to make a mistake.
We have to be ruthless & We have to be clinical.

One wicket brings two... two brings three. 📉
We are seeing panic set in. This isn't about skill anymore;
Someone needs to be brave enough to play boring cricket for. Just survive long enough to fight back. DO NOT throw this away! 🆘🇺🇸 #USAvBAN #Collapse #MentalToughness

[Akeem Dodson @IamSpoogy]

We are in the trenches now. 😬
This is the exact moment I warned about. Talent gets you to the game, but composure wins the close ones.
forget the scoreboard for a sec—watch the body language.

I asked for mental toughness & Nitish #Sudini puts on a masterclass
117* vs NZ.
Tragic that the rain washed out the match, but make no mistake: USA Cricket has found its ⭐ star!
All eyes on USA vs Bangladesh #happeningnow! Win and we advance. 🇺🇸🏏 #USACricket #U19WorldCup

USA Women scrape past Namibia by four wickets, chasing a target of 145 with four balls to spare. Poor fielding on both sides, but Namibia's mistakes wound up proving to be more costly in the end. Player of the match Ella Claridge was dropped on 6 & 19 before making 70 in the win.

[Akeem Dodson @IamSpoogy]

256/9 is a fantastic score. In a World Cup pressure cooker, that's like 280.
But the job is NOT done.
The danger is complacency. We can't think "we've got the runs." We have to bowl like we're defending 150. Apply the pressure, Squeeze! Push the body!

The pride of the Peach State! Georgia's Nitish Sudini brings up the 1st century by a USA player in ICC U19 WC history! Off 117 balls, with 10 fours & a six. He entered at 40 for 5 at the end of the 10th over, then built a USA U19 WC record 103-run partnership with Adit Kappa.

[Akeem Dodson @IamSpoogy]

20 years ago, NZ gave us a daunting 295/8 to chase in the Plate Semis🤯 vs our '06 USA team.
Today, USA post a fighting 256/9👏🏾
Is it enough to flip the script? History is giving us a chance to do so. Bowlers now need to come correct.✅💯 🇺🇸👻

2. Body Language.
Watch the replay of the IND game. After the 10th over, the energy changed. We accepted we didn't have enough runs.
Against NZ, if they hit a boundary, you don't look at the ground. You look at the batter & ask him to hit it pass you!

[Akeem Dodson @IamSpoogy]

1. Attack the New Batsman.
When a wicket falls (like 25/3), do we go defensive? & spread the field.
WRONG!
That is when you bring the fielders in. You crowd the batter. You apply the pressure! On the big stage, even giants fall..

[Akeem Dodson @IamSpoogy]

🚨 THE BLUEPRINT: How USA beats New Zealand tomorrow.
We took a slap from IND in Game 1, but we had them 25/3 😏 -
In '06 we weren't fit enough for the challenge, especially MENTALLY!
Here is the 3-step plan to fix our "Mental Toughness" problem before 2:30AM EST. 🧵

[Akeem Dodson @IamSpoogy]

In '06, we thought we had it tough!

20 years later, USA's in the "group of death". Can they handle the pressure!

IND just punched them in the face— are they mentally tough enough to bounce back vs NZ?

Here is my honest take on it ! 🧵👇
