Many people claimed that RBI sold gold worth billions of dollars to defend the rupee.
But RBI has clarified that India's gold reserves remain unchanged at 880.52 tonnes.
Simple si baat hai, sona utna hi rakha hai, bas uski market value kam dikh rahi hai. Gold becha nahi gaya hai.

Here is my revised calculation of how the delimitation proposed in the bills today would affect the share of states in the Lok Sabha. The political pattern of losers and gainers maps almost perfectly on areas of BJP’s weakness and strength.
Assumptions: Total seats: 850 (of which 35 for UTs). Rest allocated as per population share in Census 2011.
The column on Gains/Losses is critical as every state would get more seats in 850 seat house. Here gains and losses are compared to seats every state would have had if their present share was respected: e.g. Kerala would get 23 seats (additional 3) but should have got 31 if its present share was maintained. Hence it’s a loss of 8 seats. UP should have had 125 but would have 138, gain of 13.

Asked someone from the industry whether foreign investors are still interested in allocating to India. The TLDR:

Interest has pretty much died out. India is seen as geopolitically exposed, especially to an oil shock. There are no real AI plays. Valuations are rich. And the rupee situation doesn't help.

On top of that, investors who were sitting on gains have taken money off the table and are now looking at markets like Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Europe etc instead.

He also pointed out that our LTCG/STCG structure and the increase in STT have made India less attractive compared to other markets that are seeing inflows.

If we need to attract FPIs back, and we do, fixing this feels like pretty low-hanging fruit.

High US debt means more borrowing and more money printing over time. More money printing reduces real value of the dollar. Gold &silver act as protection against this.China drives short term moves. US debt drives long term trends. Crashes create fear debt creates opportunity.

Gold and silver crashed today after a strong rally. China was a major buyer in recent months. When prices peaked profit booking started. Heavy selling from China triggered panic and pushed prices down fast.
