Jay-Z and Beyoncé sat at the same table as Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner at a REFORM Alliance event an organization Jay-Z co-founded and sits on the board of. I asked whether that was hypocritical. I was told to shut up.

Megan Thee Stallion hired Alejandro Brito, an attorney who has represented Trump. I pointed out the hypocrisy. Again, I was told to shut up.

I highlighted the fact that Desiree Perez was pardoned by Trump. Once again: shut up.

Now we get to a close friend of Jay-Z being pardoned by Trump.

So… now what? 😂

Because at this point, it’s sounding pretty Republican-friendly to me.

Where are all the performative activists now? Anybody home? Hip-hop media? Anybody?

Where are the same people who were calling Nicki a “coon,” saying she sold out her culture, and questioned her politics?

Because if political associations are enough to condemn one person, then surely we’re keeping that exact same energy for everybody else… right? 👀
