You think life is fair?
1. There are good women who are sidechicks
2. Whores that have perfect relationships
3. Good guys who are being cheated on
4. Lazy people who have money
5. Givers who are really poor
6. Stingy people who are rich
7. Hardworking people who are paupers
8. Innocent people who are in prison
9. Thieves walking freely
10. Poor people with a perfect immune system
11. Rich people who dare not skip a week to visit the clinic,
12. Hungry people with no illness, foodies with ulcer dilemmas
Just live and let live - also try to enjoy life as it comes.
From a Mexican point of view, that statement resonates because Mexico has historically measured “wealth” differently than the 🇺🇸. I’m not saying better or worse, but different.
The American model, especially after WWII, became deeply tied to productivity, individual achievement, scale, optimization, and constant upward mobility. Success is frequently quantified in salary, house size, investment portfolio, or prestige. That system generates extraordinary innovation, wealth, and global influence. But psychologically, it can also create a permanent sense that one is “behind,” even while objectively prosperous.
Mexico developed under another social rhythm. In Mexico, identity is still heavily relational rather than purely professional. A person is not only “what they produce,” but who they eat with, who they joke with, what traditions they maintain, or whether people enjoy being around them.
So the small restaurant owner in Oaxaca, Guadalajara, or Mexico City may genuinely experience forms of wealth that are harder to quantify like social belonging, daily physical interaction, extended family presence, ritualized leisure, emotional spontaneity, community recognition, and less obsession with hyper-productivity.
In Mexico, food remains a social act. A long sobremesa is not seen as inefficiency; it is part of life itself. Maybe even good for business. There is also a profound Mexican proud cultural inheritance -Indigenous, Spanish and Catholic at once- that normalized coexistence with uncertainty. Mexicans historically learned to live with instability from political shifts to earthquakes. As a result, many people developed psychological adaptability and humor as mechanisms to face day to day. That is why Mexican humor can be so powerful, we transform tragedy into community.
Americans often try to eliminate uncertainty through planning, insurance, scheduling, optimization, therapy, and career control. Mexicans often try to survive uncertainty through relationships, irony, celebration, and resilience.
But the statement becomes inaccurate if romanticized too much. Mexicans can be stressed, overworked, and anxious. Many Mexicans admire the certainty on how life develops up North. Many Americans admire Mexican warmth, spontaneity, family cohesion, and ability to enjoy life without turning existence into a performance review. Both perceptions contain truth. Neither tells the whole story.
This was me some time ago.
I was working in a fintech. Very fast paced. The kind of place where if you don’t book up to five solid facilities in a month, you already know you’ll be on somebody’s radar.
Then one month just went flat.
No deals.
No serious conversations.
Nothing moving.
All the strategies I thought I had figured out suddenly stopped working. Leads I was sure about went cold on me one after the other.
Head of sales came for me. No soft talk. Told me clearly, if things don’t improve, I should be ready for PIP.
Performance review came again, same issue. Numbers not adding up.
That day, I didn’t over explain. I just told her calmly, give me space to breathe so I can fix this.
The room was quiet. You could tell they didn’t expect that kind of response.
Next month, I showed up differently.
Closed over 300M in facilities. Way above my target.
Two months later, I was made a team lead.
Sales will test you. One bad month can make you look like you don’t know what you’re doing.
But sometimes, what you need is not another strategy or another meeting.
It is the confidence to stand your ground, reset properly, and go again without fear.
Because once your mind settles, your results usually follow.
I don’t really understand the maths it takes to send humans behind the Moon and bring them back safely. And the more I sit with that, the more it genuinely messes with my head even tho my love for physics and my knowledge of physics is astounding to a point
Somebody had to work out a path where the Moon’s gravity is pulling you in, the Earth is pulling you back, and you’re moving just fast enough and not slow enough not to get trapped by either. They had to figure out the exact angle to come back into Earth’s atmosphere too. Too steep, you burn up. Too shallow, you bounce off and drift into space. And they had to get all of that right at the same time, for real people sitting in a small metal capsule about 400k kilometres away from home.
Nothing in that system is standing still.
The Moon is moving.
The Earth is moving.
Even the Sun is pulling on everything. And still, some people looked at all of that motion, all of that chaos, and turned it into numbers you can follow. Go here.
Adjust here.
Come back here.
And unlike nepa light, it infact works.
There’s also that moment in the journey where the crew passes behind the Moon. No contact with Earth. No signal. Just silence, with a massive rock blocking everything they’ve ever known. The only reason they can stay calm in that moment is because someone, somewhere, did the maths and proved they’ll come out the other side.
I don’t know what it feels like to trust something that much. To put your life in an equation when you’re that far away from everything.
But I do know this for sure, whatever that level of thinking is, whatever it takes to reach it, it might be one of the most extraordinary things human beings have ever done...
Expecting me to settle for a broke woman because I’m a single father will forever be funny to me
If you cannot take of me and my children, please leave, another woman will do it
And that’s on period 👌🏾
Let me repeat.
Your serious girlfriend is supposed to sacrifice and invest in you, while you sacrifice and invest in the future of both of you.
That's you leading from the front.
And her leading from the back.
If you have a woman like that, do all you can to marry her.
End.
