This Eid, I celebrated in #Yogi-ruled Uttar Pradesh. The mosque where I offered Eid prayers held two congregations and two sermons in order to avoid blocking roads or praying on them. The venue was provided police security, with both male and female personnel present.

The recent #Qatari propaganda through Al #Jazeera claiming that Indian Muslims are not allowed to offer Eid prayers is absolute nonsense. Also, I believe the flexibility and maturity shown by Muslims help create a positive domino effect.

Like other global gatherings, it brings together political leaders, senior military commanders, prominent business people, leading journalists, and think tank chiefs to discuss key issues; but it’s better than Davos because it’s not so dominated by politically correct plutocrats; and better than the longer-running Chinese Boao Forum, because it not essentially an exercise in homage to the host government.
