Internal disagreements are being packaged as proof of vote chori. They are not.
The Election Commission says the final decisions were unanimous. Questions over Form 6, SIR or electoral-roll software deserve legal scrutiny, but none of this, by itself, establishes election manipulation. Raise questions. Demand answers. But turning internal institutional deliberations into a verdict of vote chori before the evidence establishes it is political rhetoric, not proof.

We have been reliably informed by friends in the establishment that the Delhi Police is still busy trying to investigate us and somehow fit us into a cooked-up “anti-national” story. We are told this impossible feat of creative writing now requires deepfakes, AI, doctored chats and god knows what else, all of course at the taxpayer’s expense. Quite an expensive writers room I must say.

A gentle reminder to Delhi Police: the protesters have been granted permanent immunity in matters relating to the protests. And even otherwise, writing fiction is not part of the Police Manual. You are not going to get the Booker Prize or Nobel Prize for Literature. So please stop wasting everyone’s time and public money. Instead, go investigate the PG Mafia, Hospital Mafia, and Education Mafia in Delhi.

The Delhi Police may also wish to refresh its memory about what happened when certain BRUTAL directions issued by Amit Shah to the Home Secretary and the then Police Commissioner were flat out refused by the two to be implemented, as a consequence of which its Commissioner was removed barely three-four days before the Parliament March.

In any case, why go through all this jugaad? If Delhi Police has any questions about us, the protests, the Supreme Court judgment, please call all three of us, me, Dipke, Ashutosh anytime. We will happily come together to the new Police Commissioner’s office and subject ourselves to unlimited questioning. No deepfakes will be required then. Originals will come.

The Women in Blue have brought home GOLD, defeating Sri Lanka by a massive 147 runs. Bharat’s first Gold of the Games, delivered in style.
Watching our girls play with such confidence and fight was an absolute joy. Every run, every wicket and that final moment made us proud.
Heartiest congratulations to Harmanpreet Kaur and the entire team. You have given all of us a moment to celebrate and remember.

A student’s death is a tragedy. It deserves a fair, transparent investigation. But tragedy cannot become a licence to abandon due process.
An invigilator’s job is to enforce examination rules. If every action against alleged cheating can later expose a teacher to criminal charges, suspension and mob pressure, who will enforce academic discipline?
Caste discrimination must be investigated wherever alleged. But culpability must be established through evidence, not presumed from the caste of the student or the intensity of a protest.
Today it is IIT Bombay. Tomorrow, teachers and invigilators across Bharat may simply look the other way rather than risk their careers for doing their duty.
That would be disastrous for our education system. Justice for a student and due process for a teacher are not contradictory principles. Bharat needs both.

This is becoming campus mob justice.
A tragic death deserves a thorough investigation. But students surrounding an IIT Director and demanding his resignation merely because an FIR has been registered is intimidation, not justice.
The SC/ST Act was enacted to protect people from genuine caste atrocities. Its misuse, or the threat of its use, can destroy careers and reputations overnight. That concern cannot be brushed aside simply because the law serves an important purpose.
If professors and administrators can be forced out through allegations and street pressure, who will take difficult academic or disciplinary decisions tomorrow?
An FIR is not a conviction. Protest cannot become prosecution, judge and punishment rolled into one.
Let the investigation establish the facts. Stop the campus trial. #IITBombayProtest

Mocking the Prime Minister through a third-rate comedy act is one thing. Rahul Gandhi choosing to participate in it is another.
Politics demands sharp criticism, debate and disagreement. But when a Leader of the Opposition joins in cheap mimicry of the Prime Minister, it raises questions about his political judgement and the seriousness with which he approaches his constitutional role.
You can oppose Narendra Modi fiercely. But reducing political discourse to mockery does little to strengthen your own case.

Shocking and deeply sad.
I knew her from the NewsX days, when I was Editor, Live Feed at News Wire Service, operating from the same building. We had several encounters in the canteen and the lift, and every interaction reflected the same person, full of life, warmth and, of course, information.
A sad day for the reporting community.
