@Broonjunior@EasyPeasy_3 lined up and make the most of it ..and it b doesn’t happen , so the same for plan c ..teaches resilience and as an employer i admire kids that don’t always get route a but go for b and still in the game 👍👍
@Broonjunior@EasyPeasy_3 if you really want something badly you will go get it….i wanted to go to Uni to do Accountancy , couldn’t afford it ,took a YTS, day release and passed my professional exams …that’s life , my son faced this and my advice was if you don’t get plan a , get a b
@EasyPeasy_3@Broonjunior poor choice of words ..it’s a cliff edge ..when you start charging ( voluntary or not ) ..your on the way off the cliff …with politicians shoving you for your cash
@Broonjunior@EasyPeasy_3 those “high earners “ won’t qualify for free and probably can’t afford it ..so we end up with the English system of kids with £100k debt at 9% accumulation
@Broonjunior@EasyPeasy_3 because it will be used as a thin edge of wedge , pay if you want will be stage 1 , then means test stage 2 and that “means “ will go down all the time ….higher rate taxpayers will be the target ..which is forecast to be. about 60% of the working population…
@Broonjunior@EasyPeasy_3 i agree with you and James re the political crowing nonsense…but it is free , that’s the point , all Scottish kids can get a degree free , regardless of their background or parents wealth and leave Uni debt free (appreciate they have to live !!!) that alone is worth it
@Broonjunior@EasyPeasy_3 and he always has to pay for it , no free “opportunity “ for him …most in Scotland get what they want or close, the price of free education is some don’t , as unfair as that may be to those that don’t , is it not a price worth paying for a free education system?
@Broonjunior@EasyPeasy_3 my sons plan b to was down south and personally i would have been delighted if he had , spread his wings ..if he doesn’t come back then his choice but the Country won’t grind to a halt without him …will miss the kid but his life 😂😂
@Broonjunior@EasyPeasy_3 see your point , think they are , respectfully , more likely to head for Glasgow \Edinburgh …but agree may head south and is that a bad thing if they can afford it ??
@EasyPeasy_3@Eddie101228 my son will be in a course with estimated 5% Scottish kids , that’s
way too low but that’s what happens when they are underfunded and need the cash …it’s tough , i want free education for those that cant afford it …do we means test it for Scot’s ??
@EasyPeasy_3 i know it is and my son wasn’t told don’t even bother applying to Edinburgh …which seem stupid but that’s the price of free education, we can’t have it all , personally i would
prefer some kids not getting exactly what they want than kids not affording to go at all
