.@MattHancock here laughing off the suggestion that No 10 rushed forward the launch of its track and trace system (still no date on rolling out the app bye) in order to distract from the Cummings row
No follow up Q today, nor did the PM allow Vallence or Whitty to answer question about whether they were worried about example being set by Cummings' behaviour
Wow. Boris Johnson bans CMO Chris Whitty and CSA Sir Patrick Vallance from giving their opinions on Dominic Cummings’ lockdown activities. Now we know why they were abruptly sent home from No10 on Monday instead of doing the press conference.
@bondizzz @Pheonix55883062 @bbclaurak Ah! The empty apology. Do as you like and then apologise to fix it. If DC had apologised they would have still been calling for his resignation.
This has to be stopped. Committing crimes in broad daylight and caught on camera. We should demand that they are prosecuted.
If not then does it not send out the message that we should all behave like this!
@lisaocarroll@BethRigby Why would it be 50%! Why would it ever be a percentage?
Surely it should only ever be who is best for the job regardless of gender.
@DehennaDavison Well that was almost an admission and probably the best you could expect because there is no way on earth that they would be completely honest, hold their hands up and admit they are biased and will address the situation
@bbclaurak It's about time he was left to get on with running the country. He hasn't even been given time to fully recover from Covid and has to deal with this crap.
#liasoncommittee
I find it ridiculous that the PM is expected to give short and to the point answers yet the questions are drawn out.
This is just a complete witch hunt and a waste of time.
The chair of the meeting is also clearly biased.
