@DigibodyR last week we discussed that an argument is an exercise of critical thinking, questioning an idea further. This made me think of arguments with my brothers and how they never seem to end.. they only get longer and more complicated.

@DigibodyR this week I was reminded of a meme that shows the importance of activity using rhetorical analysis. Understanding rhetorical messages helps us evaluate the ethics of messages and how those messages effect us personally and as a society.

@DigibodyR No one wants to peer edit. Everyone wants feedback from the teacher. I believe this is because we don’t want people to see the ‘ugly’ or ‘broken’ version of ourselves. We want to communicate only what makes us look good. Comically demonstrated below.

@DigibodyR I’m beginning to understand that all communication makes choices in order to convey its message to us. Reading rhetorically is being aware of this and actively looking at how an author is trying to convince you of their goal. Every single word or action is a choice.
