@OpenMindMH Hi Rachel. In Cornwall and Dorsey we’ve been recruiting trainees with a very wide range of experience. Those who do best can evidence their capacity to get alongside our clients who are in greatest need - as healthcare assistants or therapeutic care workers.
@OpenMindMH Absolutely! We have to increase access to psychology training and stop making the route so profoundly damaging to so many. I hope that the new MSc Clinical Associate in Psychology route will improve access. We desperately need to broaden the scope of the profession.
Can you imagine how hard NHS cleaners have been working over the past few months?
They rarely get a mention, but they’ve done an incredible job and no doubt saved many lives.
Please RT to help them find out how grateful we all are.
@benedictwheeler Ben is too modest to report that he WON! Many congratulations, Ben - I know how much you put into your teaching, and how much the students get out of it!
@CorinneGressang Hi Corinne. A teacher friend of mine with a PhD here in the UK gets round the Sir/Miss problem by insisting her pupils address her as ‘M’am’ - which is how we address female Officers in the military. Classy!
@MaritaCooperPhD Hi Marita. Clinically, it's axiomatic that weight restoration precedes psychological recovery; at least partly because interventions focus on the former. The latter is a much more complex and individualised process. See: https://t.co/XZjN7nywB2
Do we need to be considering the very experience of having an ED as truma? What would treatment of ED truma look like? Is there already research into this? How would this differ to the treating of the ED itself? Our body as the reminder of our ED truma? #ICED2020
@OpenMindMH Rachel - this is really important and totally consistent with lots of the neurobiological theories: it makes perfect sense that you feel it ‘in my body and in my mind’. That’s absolutely the best single sentence summary of what I’ve been trying to say for 25 years!
...it is mental health awareness week and I have written a quiet and personal reflection on self-esteem and feeling worthy. I'll leave it here: https://t.co/C9TikRUduW
