#ElginOPP conduct a R.I.D.E. program on Dexter Line in Central Elgin. All drivers checked were sober on this day.
Impaired driving is dangerous regardless of the source of impairment. Whether a driver is impaired by alcohol or drugs, impaired is impaired.
If you suspect a driver is impaired, make note of the driving behaviour, the descriptors of the vehicle, licence plate and drivers description. If you don't have a passenger, pull over and call 911.^jcb

Cameron St. closed Bentinck St. to Baird St. in Corunna, due to a collision. Injuries are being assessed. OPP is on scene and asking motorists to avoid the area and use alternate routes. Expect a prolonged closure for the investigation and clean-up. Updates to follow. ^pia

#ElginOPP stopped this commercial motor vehicle after it failed to stop for a school bus on Talbot Line in the Township of Malahide. The driver was also charged with falsifying records. Put out of service for 72 hours due to false logs. Please slow down and stop for school buses that are approaching with their lights flashing.^jcb

#PerthOPP is excited to introduce Inspector Tyler Stewart who officially joined the Perth County OPP Detachment on August 25, 2025, as the Detachment Commander.

Inspector Stewart started with the OPP in 2004 as a Special Constable in Huron County and later joined the Huron OPP Detachment as a Provincial Constable in 2010.

Since 2013, he has worked in the Drug Enforcement Unit, Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, and West Region Crime Prevention and Investigations.

Inspector Stewart is focused on keeping Perth County a safe place for to live, work and visit. This accomplished through enforcement, engagement, education and creating strong partnerships with the community.

Since arriving in Perth County, Inspector Stewart has been impressed with the positive partnerships the OPP has in place with the community adding “The dedication of our uniform and civilian members together with the support of community partners are integral components in keeping our community safe.”

Inspector Stewart also added “Through investigative excellence our members continue to make a positive impact on priorities such as Intimate Partner Violence, drug trafficking, property crime, impaired driving and traffic enforcement.” ^ep

Canada day 2025, #ElginOPP Officers Muldoon, Robinson and Auxiliary Officer Legacy set up a bicycle rodeo for the children in Belmont, Central Elgin. Huge turn out to learn about bicycle safety before the children rode from the Liquor store parking lot to the Belmont arena for hotdogs.
