Chile: A large and fast moving fire started just outside the city of Tiltil, Chile.

High winds are pushing the fire and numerous homes are threatened. Evacuations have been ordered. The cause of the fire is suspected to be human caused.

Chile’s fire season is starting to look like it’ll be very busy.

Pioneer Fire in WA is about 60km south of BC & the Canadian border.

Washington: The Pioneer Fire is now 3,811 acres. Structure prep is underway as roadwork and potential control lines are scouted. #wildfire #pioneerfire #wafire

This fire is burning in the Lake Chelan-Sawtooth wilderness area and also on private ground.

Fire managers has said the Summer Blossom rd/trail is still blocked by snow… some evacuation orders have been put into place.

@jwsthomson If your desktop drive isn’t backed up elsewhere (& you edit video/images from it) the. It should be setup as Raid1 at least. This allows your data to be safe after an individual drive failure. Raid 0 gives you more speed & speed (but less security in case of failure).

@jwsthomson I use a tiny external 4TB SSD that travels with me. Canada Computers can assemble SSD in a fast enclosure for you w usb3.
We rented 18gig drives to edit a show in 1996. I learned since: failures are rare yet scary.
Back everything up.
For desktop: get a big 18TB Raid.
