@educator4ever36 One thing I am going to do in my elementary computer science classes with AI is image generation. I feel like it is a good opportunity to work on descriptive writing.
@AConcernedPare2 The school I used to teach at had their music concerts during the school day. I always felt for the parents who had to miss or lose out on hours because of the inconvenient time.
@educator4ever36 I’m all for starting in August, but against going in June (everyone is done when the weather turns to summer). Christmas break has gotten out of control. Too many feel they need a week to prepare for their own Christmas. Go to the 23rd, you will be fine.
@FromTeachrsDesk I feel like we need proficiency tests, not standardized tests that ask questions below and above grade level. Then nobody knows the formula on how a kid gets a score of 398.
@teachergoals Well you would have to give more PTO (like normal full time jobs). So now you run into teachers being gone more and have a bigger issue with subs.
@Doc_Brown_FS I think you underestimate how nice it is for parents just to visit the room where there kid is all day for elementary school. Parents aren’t allowed in during the day like they could in the past.
@educator4ever36 I feel like we push the kids too hard for their age. Most schools are probably at 80%. But I feel like a good 50% is better than a burnt out kid at 80%.
@ben_m_somers There is also a factor of who you get in your room. There are kids who could ruin a classroom. Corrupt admin could ensure some teachers get the bonus while others don’t based on roster make up.
@chriscfore Reading scores would go up if we did more science and social studies and removed the mandatory 90 minutes ELA. (Because sci and ss are basically content focused ELA)
