I grew up in the system and tried my best in Pune. My final-year project on parallel computing won several national awards but found no takers when I approached service companies to develop it further. They sought J2EE or mainframe skills. Most colleagues dreamed of American assignments and showed no interest in productization. I agree that employment, like industrialization, follows a similar pattern. It's a hard truth to accept. The service industry, driven by easy money, is just one part of this systemic failure but dominates it.
