.@JamesTalarico: An Amazon worker recently died on a warehouse floor and management told the others: ‘Just turn around and don't look. Get back to work.’ That was a human being. That was a child of God. Sacrificed on the altar of corporate greed.
Don’t conform to this world. It’s not healthy to assimilate in a sick system.
I’m asking you to question everything you’ve been told at school or at work or at church — and certainly anything you hear from a politician. Reject anything that makes you less human.
A different world is possible. What if we built systems that brought out the best in us? What if we invested the same resources into peace that we invest into war? What if the only hunger was for justice?
I know there is a lot of news around but can someone at the Beeb explain to me how a man they keep telling us might be the next PM getting an undisclosed donation of FIVE MILLION POUNDS from a Thai based crypto dealer (with a BS explanation about it being for lifelong security) is not even a news story when the man he wants to replace led the news for days over some glasses and Arsenal tickets?
Every time I see @Franklin_Graham defend Donald Trump and forfeit his moral authority for the sake of political power… I think of these words of his dad:
"The hard right has no interest in religion except to manipulate it." -Rev. Billy Graham
The resurrection declares that Jesus is victorious not only over death, but over every power that produces it.
Therefore, faithful Christian witness resists the forces of death, living instead in anticipation of the world being made new in Christ.
The Middle East is full of Christians who knowingly put themselves at risk to go to church. The right to do so ought to be fundamental.
Restricting freedom of worship on health and safety grounds is a bizarre decision for Israel: good to see them backtracking now.
.@JamesTalarico: People are ready for a politics of love. A radical love — especially for our neighbors who are the most different from us. That kind of politics could transform this country.
If we actually treated all of our neighbors as bearers of the image of the divine, how would our discourse look? How would our public policies look?
To me, that is the primary question that we should all be asking.
This kind of politics is not what we've had, but I think people are searching for it.
.@JamesTalarico: The kind of religion that says you can treat people however you want as long as you have a personal relationship with Jesus is an abomination.
Scripture says you can't love God and hate other people.
You can't love God and abuse the immigrant.
You can't love God and bully the outcast.
You can't love God and oppress the poor.
We spend so much time looking for God out there, that we miss God in the person sitting right next to us.
Any theology that pursues power and dominance distorts the gospel.
It makes a broken world less able to hear “good news.”
We will keep proclaiming Jesus to ALL people made in God’s image.

.@Lawrence: President Obama talked about the value of younger candidates who know who they are. Is that the way you see yourself?
@JamesTalarico: My granddad told me our job is to love God and love neighbor. That second commandment is what motivated me to go into public service—first as a teacher, now as a public official.
I am trying to love my neighbor through public policy. I’m trying to make my neighbor’s life a little easier and a little better. That is my ‘why.’
We have a moral imperative to win in November because if we don’t win, we can’t help people.
A man at our town hall asked if love was too weak for this moment.
I told him: “My faith teaches me that love is the strongest force in the universe. A new kind of politics is possible.”
And then it was proven in real time…
🚨 Breaking: Government confirms end of Listed Places of Worship Grant Scheme. It will be replaced by a £230 million package to protect and preserve heritage buildings, including listed places of worship. We welcome this, but there's a catch. Churches will now have to pay tax.
John 20:26
“A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!”
A great verse for 2026
"We now believe that the conditions are right for pilgrims to return. We hope that UK Christians and churches will consider St George’s as an option for them." - @sgcjerusalem#pilgrimage#HolyLand#Jerusalem#Palestinians
