A sea walk on the North Yorkshire coast, very much reminds me that "Mightier than the waves of the sea is His love for you" (Psalm 93:4).
2025 has been a year of the challenges of lifeβs stormy seas but with the peace, assurance and stillness of calm ones too.
Alyson and I are extremely thankful for so many people, some who have been friends for decades, some who have recently become true and loyal ones and also complete strangers who we will never forget.
The care and healing I've received in Scarborough / York hospitals and here in The Kirkbymoorside Surgery with four GPs, two Consultants and over forty different nurses have helped me on my recovery journey.
I've been diagnosed with Panton-Valentine Leukocidin (PVL), a powerful virus that destroys white blood cells, leading to severe skin infections which required four operations within four months.
When a new year starts we never know what it holds, but we are assured that we know the One who is mightier, greater and in all reality holds us.
When this happens, the germ is called PVL-SA.
The PV toxin can damage white blood cells, which are part of the immune system. This can cause skin infections, and in rare cases, more serious problems to the skin, deeper tissues and internal organs.
The results of the last wound swab have revealed @ianrmayer has Panton-Valentine Leukocidin (PVL), a powerful toxin that destroys white blood cells, leading to severe skin infections like abscesses, boils, and carbuncles. He is currently undergoing treatment.
Our bodies are hosts to many different organisms, including germs. Staphylococcus aureus (SA) is a common germ that lives harmlessly on the skin of many people. However, some types of SA produce a toxin called Panton Valentine Leukocidin (PVL).
I comment on anything related to Ian's health π₯ My @X header picture features a 'Da Vinci' robot, similar to the one used on @ianrmayer by the @SheffieldHosp #Urology Team.
