What people don’t seem to understand is that sensible people across the centre, centre-left and centre-right broadly agree that we need to effectively eliminate undocumented migration by people entering under false pretences as asylum seekers. Very few people seriously disagree with that.

What sensible people object to is the hard right obsessively focusing on this one group, then weaponising every crime committed by an individual within it to stir up fear and hatred towards minorities across Britain for political gain.

And this is where their sanctimony becomes particularly galling.

The hard right has a serious violence problem of its own, notably violence against women. These people don’t get to lecture the rest of Britain about keeping women safe while conveniently ignoring the wife-beaters, domestic abusers and violent thugs within their own ranks.

If we jailed every hard-right scumbag who beats his wife or abuses women, violence against women in Britain would probably fall 50% overnight.

Yet strangely, they never seem interested in talking about those men.

Because this was never really about protecting women.

It was about exploiting women’s safety as a vehicle for hatred, division and corrupt politics.

In July 2025, the UN wrote to the UK government to highlight how disabled people are treated in this country.

One of the issues highlighted was MPs and government departments portraying disabled people as ‘“making profit” from benefits, committing benefit fraud, and “being a burden to society”’.

This is exactly what is going on in the UK media:

Disabled people negatively portrayed as scamming the system, living in luxury while everyone else suffers, demanding benefits and support are cut.

The A66 crash claimed two police officers and five young men racing the wrong way. Home Office minister Anna Turley paid respects to every life lost. Shadow justice secretary Nick Timothy called it moral equivalence. He demanded hierarchy in grief.

Two officers died doing their duty. Five others died in criminal flight, some with long records. The force asked for inclusive words. Timothy turned mourning into a weapon. Ordinary people laying flowers do not need Tory lectures on whose death counts.

Grief is not a scorecard. The dead are dead. The living need answers on why that car was on the wrong side at speed, not a culture war over floral tributes. Timothy’s outrage serves no family. It serves the next headline.

The problem with anti-disabled, anti-disability benefits rhetoric in the media, is that it has real world consequences & does very real world harm.

As a disabled, chronically ill woman, I’ve been:

🚨sworn at multiple times.
🚨spat at.
❤️‍🩹Ignored & talked over, as if I’m not there.
🚨moved without permission.
🚨told I don’t need my scooter/chair.
🚨berated for using a mask.
🚨told to smile.
🚨told I could have a disabled seat on a train when I start paying taxes.
❤️‍🩹laughed at for asking to sit down.
❤️‍🩹screamed at in a car park for using a disabled bay.
🚨challenged when using my blue badge or disabled parking.
❤️‍🩹had people demand to see my blue badge because they think it’s fake or stolen.
🚨had a woman try to open my car door/demand I roll down my window just so she could tell me that I’m a liar and she was going to report me to motability (I don’t have a motability car).
❤️‍🩹Had my car keyed by someone who thinks it’s a motability vehicle that I shouldn’t be getting.
🚨been challenged for having a RADAR key and using the disabled bathroom.
🚨Repeatedly been denied boarding of a train & been stranded on railway platforms, because workers can’t be bothered & resent having to deal with disabled passengers.
🚨been refused entry to public venues.
❤️‍🩹told repeatedly that I don’t look disabled.
❤️‍🩹that I look fine & can’t be in pain.
🖤told that my conditions are fake and imagined.
🚨told by delivery drivers & postal workers that it ‘must be nice’ to spend all day at home/ in bed, or that ‘it’s all right for some’ to still be in my pjs at 2pm.

And all of this, in just the last year.

Another complaint to OFCOM incoming against @LBC for promoting disinformation/LIES about disability benefits. Shame on you @jhansonradio for letting a caller say people can ‘get an autism diagnosis’ to ‘get a free car’ and money. A DIAGNOSIS GETS YOU F**K ALL! Stop lying about the criteria for getting benefits like PIP. It is hell to claim as you need libraries of medical evidence and it is based solely on ability to function/perform basic daily tasks.
You are attacking people who can’t do basic things like wash themselves/manage daily hygiene, cook for themselves, manage their money, use public transport or even leave the sodding house. It’s evil.

Britain is an interesting country.
A disabled person receiving £90 a week is apparently an intolerable burden on the taxpayer.
A billionaire arranging his affairs so he contributes rather less than expected is, somehow, a wealth creator.
