The Battle of Beaumont Hamel took place 110 years ago on 1 July 1916, part of the Battle of the Somme. 800 soldiers of the @NewFoundLand Regiment advanced under heavy fire. Only 68 were able to answer the roll call the next day, with more than 700 killed, wounded or missing.
In the 1991 movie "The Addams Family" I recall this conversation: "Would you like to buy some Girl Guide cookies? Are they made with real Girl Guides?" And then I saw a commercial and thought, well, sorry.

AND I GOT ONE !!😋😋😋
To my dear family, friends, and colleagues across Canada affected by extreme weather and snowfall ... sorry. Oh, and I saw a robin this morning too !! 😁
Happy Winter Solstice: The longest night. The shortest light. The winter solstice is the point at which the path of the sun in the sky is farthest south. The sun travels the shortest path through the sky making today the day with the least sunlight and the longest night.
MISS MIGA
Sometimes at night I awake with a start.
Sometimes it's sirens, I can tell them apart.
Sometimes it's owls, coyotes, geese or loud moths.
Sometimes it's sighs, small moans, and odd coughs.
Sometimes it's scary or unknown in night's fog.
Then, I realize it's only the dog
Three reasons I get to mark today as one of the finest days of the year. And endless love, respect and thanks to my partner in this joint venture.
We did good, hon.🥰🙏🥰
The Case of the Misplaced Modifier
The @GlobalBC Top Stories news ticker read, "Humpback whale gobbles up kayaker before spitting him out in Chile."
Was the kayaker swallowed in Peru ??

It's Burns Night🏴
Since 1801, Burns Night suppers have been hosted across Scotland and around the World on the 25th of January.🏴
In the 200+ years since then, new traditions have been added but the sentiment remains the same: to pay tribute to Scotland's national poet.🏴
