CodexFuse shows your Codex 5-hour and weekly limits, and when each one resets, so you stop getting cut off mid-task.

@chainsmoker89 A whole week gone in 14 hours hurts. Splitting work into small focused sessions and keeping reasoning low for simple edits is what slowed my burn the most.
@anshgrows I don't either. When I hit it I plan the next task offline and wait for the reset, it usually comes back sooner than buying credits would pay off.
@deptulaaa Fair point, the separate Codex bucket was a real reason to stay. I'm curious how many people end up splitting chat and coding across two tools after December.
Codex limit tip: ask for a 3-line plan before it edits anything. Fixing a wrong plan is cheap; undoing a wrong multi-file edit eats your session.

@deptulaaa Yeah, one shared bucket means a long Codex run can leave you without chat until the reset. I'm going to start splitting big jobs into smaller runs.
@Davidwuuu92@droid On the $20 plan the weekly window is what bites me. Short sessions per task and low reasoning for small edits stretch it the most so far.
@Womanhood1877 If you're on the CLI, typing /status shows both the 5-hour and weekly windows with their reset times. That's been the quickest way for me to check.
Codex on Plus tip: don't paste a whole test log into the chat. Paste only the failing test and its error. Long logs stay in context and keep eating your 5-hour and weekly limits.

@JamesMalsawm Worth noting the doubling was Pro only. On Plus I still drop reasoning to low for small edits, otherwise the weekly bar moves way too fast.
Codex on Plus tip: start a fresh session for each new task. A long thread carries its whole history into every turn, so old context keeps eating your 5-hour and weekly limits.

@absaarrr@theo Two parallel sessions on long threads can drain it scary fast, since every turn resends the whole context. Checking /status between runs at least shows which window is moving.
@utpalsinghdev Four messages eating 60% usually means each turn carried a huge context. Starting a fresh session per task and pointing it at the exact files has stretched Plus a lot further for me.
Codex on Plus: the weekly limit is the real wall, not the 5-hour one. A single long session can eat a big chunk of it.
Tip: use low/medium reasoning for routine edits and save high for the hard bugs.

@Green_Light_Art@theo Part of it is the agent loop: every turn resends the growing context, so the same task costs more tokens in Codex than one clean API call. Tighter, file-scoped prompts close the gap a bit.
@KostjaPalovic@afomera@kylefox Seeing the same lately, a lot of quiet resets. I just check /status before a big push so I know which window I'm about to burn through.
Codex tip: name the exact files in your prompt. If it has to search the repo to find them, all that exploring counts against your limit too.

@Im_IrushiK Reasoning level makes a huge difference there. Medium on long tasks adds up fast; dropping to low for routine edits stretches Plus a lot further.
