🚨 NDC’s “Successful IMF Exit” Exposed as Propaganda

In Parliament, the former Finance Minister Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam dismantled the NDC government’s narrative that Ghana has achieved a strong independent exit from the IMF Programme

Key Facts Exposed include
👉🏽 The government did not voluntarily or triumphantly exit the Extended Credit Facility
👉🏽 The IMF forced Ghana into a non-lending Policy Coordination Instrument (PCI) because the NDC administration failed to meet critical structural benchmarks and deliver on reforms
👉🏽 Under the PCI, the IMF provides zero new money, only continued oversight, conditions and monitoring.

The Propaganda vrs Reality

Truth 👀: This is a downgrade. The ruling party could not implement the reforms required for continued financial support, so the IMF withheld further disbursements while keeping Ghana under tighter policy supervision.

“ I am surprised that this government will accept conditionality without any money coming from the IMF. That is the reason that IMF for you to accept the PCI because you didn’t implement the structural reforms.
