Samsung is bringing back its classic x.5 update with One UI 8.5, skipping 8.1 and 8.1.1 entirely — the first x.5 release since One UI 2.5 four years ago. It’s based on Android 16 and expected to launch with the Galaxy S26 in early 2026, around January or February.
If your device is getting One UI 8.0, chances are high it’ll also get 8.5. Here’s the full list:

The update will then roll out to other eligible devices.

The chip is currently in mass production. While Samsung hasn’t officially confirmed which phones will get it first, it’s widely expected to debut in the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 7.
