Facts. On paper, Sam Mbakwe Cargo Airport is not profitable and has not been in a while. But it covers its costs and it drives more than 2T naira in economic value annually. Imagine if our people did not task themselves to build it because it's not profitable.
We really need to wake up and take ourselves seriously as a society before it's too late.
Strengthening Democracy Through Inclusive Voter Registration
Yesterday, after attending the graduation ceremony of the Millennium College of Nursing Sciences in Awka, I visited an INEC Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) Centre in Enugu.
I was pleased to witness an orderly and well-organised registration process. I also met a number of people patiently queuing to register, demonstrating their commitment to participating in our democracy. I commend the INEC staff for their dedication and professionalism.
I, however, urge INEC to extend the Continuous Voter Registration exercise to at least 90 days before the General Elections to give more eligible Nigerians the opportunity to register and participate in the electoral process.

Earlier today, I met with the British High Commissioner to Nigeria, His Excellency Dr Richard Montgomery. We had a thoughtful discussion on the state of our democracy, the economy, the importance of strengthening our institutions, and the need to ensure that our elections remain free, fair, credible, and truly reflective of the will of the Nigerian people.
As Dr Montgomery prepares to conclude his diplomatic assignment in Nigeria next month, I thanked him for his service and for the role he has played in strengthening the longstanding relationship between Nigeria and the United Kingdom. His time in Nigeria has been marked by constructive engagement and support for our democratic and economic development.
I wished him well as he prepares for his next assignment and thanked him for the friendship and cooperation he has extended to Nigeria throughout his tenure. I look forward to seeing the strong relationship between our two countries continue to grow.

Chude: The ruling party claims your support has dwindled and that you can no longer pull the kind of votes you got last time.
Peter Obi: That is not true. They are only trying to discourage the people. I plead with young Nigerians to come out and join me in the fight to reclaim our country. You are the ones dying in the ocean, the ones being chased out of South Africa. Instead, let all of us stay and die in Nigeria if we must, but let us make sure this rot stops because right now, we no longer have a country.
The wait is over.
We have 2 golds: Chimdiebube Onwubiko and Don Anele Munachimso.
We are the best in the world!
Egejurum Onyedikachi’s name was omitted. He should have a gold.
