JESUS CHRIST IS GOD.
But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.
Mark 13 : 32 (KJV)
The above verse is often used by those who deny the divinity of Jesus Christ to prove that Jesus Christ is not God. They argue that because Jesus Christ did not know the time of His return, He cannot be called God.
Is it true that Jesus Christ did not know the time of His return?
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
Matthew 28 : 18 (KJV)
Through this verse, Jesus Christ affirms that all power in heaven and on earth belongs to Him. When it says "all power," it certainly includes the power to know the time of His return.
I and my Father are one.
John 10 : 30 (KJV)
Because Jesus Christ and the Father are one, it follows that everything the Father knows is also known to Jesus Christ.
All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
John 16 : 15 (KJV)
Jesus Christ's affirmation that all that belongs to the Father is His proves that if the Father has knowledge of the day of Jesus Christ's return, then Jesus Christ also has knowledge of the day of His return.
Now are we sure that thou knowest all things, and needest not that any man should ask thee: by this we believe that thou camest forth from God.
John 16 : 30 (KJV)
The apostles who had followed Jesus Christ during His earthly ministry concluded that Jesus Christ knew all things.
Based on the verses above, we can conclude that Jesus Christ knew everything that would happen in the future, including the time of His return.
So what is the meaning of Jesus Christ's words in the verse above (Mark 13 : 32), which seem to confirm that He did not know the time of His return?
In the verse above (Mark 13 : 32), Jesus Christ did not say, "I do not know," but rather, "neither the Son." This could be interpreted as meaning that Jesus Christ was speaking as the Son or as the Father's messenger, and not as God. In other words, Jesus Christ was not exercising His authority as God.
Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
Philippians 2 : 6 - 7 (KJV)
Why didn't Jesus Christ use His authority as God? Isn't Jesus Christ God?
Because Jesus Christ is God, He has full right to use or not use His authority.
Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is thine eye evil, because I am good?
Matthew 20 : 15 (KJV)
No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.
John 10 : 18 (KJV)
So, the conclusion is that Mark 13 : 32 does not in any way deny the divinity of Jesus Christ.
God bless you all.
James does not say that Abraham was justified by faith alone, but the facts that James bases on say that Abraham was justified by faith alone.
And Abram said, Behold, to me thou hast given no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is mine heir.
And, behold, the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir.
And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.
And he BELIEVED in the LORD; and he counted it to him for RIGHTEOUSNESS.
Genesis 15 : 3 - 6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
John 14 : 6
When Adam and Eve sinned in the garden of Eden, they and their descendants were completely disconnected from God.
The phrase "come to the Father" in that verse (John 14: 6) means the restoration of man's relationship with God.
Noah's presence among humans was unable to restore humans' relationship with God.
The presence of Moses among the Israelites was unable to restore humanity's relationship with God. Also the presence of other prophets is unable to restore humans' relationship with God.
Why?
Because they are not people appointed by the Father to restore man's relationship with God.
Why?
Because the cause of the severing of humanity's relationship with God was the sin committed by Adam and Eve, until someone is able to erase this inherited sin, the relationship between humans and God will remain in a severed state.
Jesus Christ is the only Person appointed by the Father to restore this relationship.
Jesus Christ is the Messiah, the anointed one, who is authorized to carry out this restoration, because He died for the sins of all men.
Jesus Christ is the only Mediator between God and humans.
Jesus Christ is God.
Basically, all the New Testament writers, including James, teach that faith must be accompanied by works, but that does not mean that faith accompanied by works is a requirement for salvation, because to obtain salvation you only need faith. After you have received salvation through faith in Jesus Christ, you must strive to keep your faith alive (not dead). How do you keep your faith alive? For your faith to remain alive (not dead), your faith must grow and bear fruit. How do you make your faith grow and bear fruit? For your faith to grow and bear fruit, you must keep God's commandments. Works (doing God's commandments) are not a requirement for salvation, but the fruit of salvation that you receive through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. So your works will prove whether you have a living faith or a dead faith.
Dead faith = no faith.
No faith = no salvation.
Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
James 2 : 17 - 18
@BishopJaxi By faith we are saved, and once saved, we have the ability to do God's will. It's important to understand that being saved by faith and entering Heaven are two different things.
In accordance with the formal principles in force at that time, Jesus was a descendant of Judah.
The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.
And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
Matthew 1 : 1, 21
@MasterMaliq The Gospel writers (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) wrote, "Jesus said," because they were reporting what Jesus said while He was carrying out His mission on earth.
Why does that confuse you?
Hebrews 1 confirms the trinity:
Jesus Christ is the brightness of God's glory and the image of God.
Jesus Christ has a position that is much higher than the angels, and the only Person who has a position that is higher than the angels is God.
Therefore, Jesus Christ is God.
@Boss_Aleeyu Jesus Christ taught His followers not to easily believe a claim, but to look more closely at the evidence than just the claim. While Jesus never claimed to be God, He proved that He is. Your confusion may stem from clinging solely to claims.
Matthew's testimony proves that Jesus Christ is God.
1. The only one who can forgive sins is God, and Jesus Christ forgives sins.
And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.
Matthew 9 : 2
2. The only one who can raise the dead is God, and Jesus Christ proved that He is able to raise the dead.
But when the people were put forth, he went in, and took her by the hand, and the maid arose.
Matthew 9 : 25
3. God alone has all authority, and Jesus Christ gave His disciples the power to cast out evil spirits and eliminate all diseases and bodily infirmities.
And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.
Matthew 10 : 1
4. The only one who has the right to command the angels is God, and Jesus Christ confirmed that He would command the angels to carry out the harvest at the end of time.
The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;
Matthew 13 : 41
5. God is the only one worthy of worship, and Jesus Christ did not refuse when His disciples worshiped Him.
Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.
Matthew 14 : 33
6. God is the only one who is omnipresent, and Jesus Christ promised that He would always be present in the fellowship of His people
For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
Matthew 18 : 20
7. God is the only owner of the eternal word, and Jesus Christ said that His word would not pass away.
Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
Matthew 24 : 35
8. All power in heaven and on earth belongs to God, and Jesus Christ said that all power in Heaven and on earth has been handed over to Him.
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
Matthew 28 : 18
9. God is the only one who is eternal, and Jesus Christ promised that He would be with His people for all time.
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Matthew 28 : 20
Jesus Christ has the power to forgive sins, the power to raise the dead, and the power over evil spirits and various human weaknesses. Jesus Christ is eternal and has all authority in Heaven and on earth. Jesus Christ is omnipresent and His words are eternal, and He also has the power to rule over all angels and is worthy of worship. All of this proves that Jesus Christ is God.
