The cause is the government and lack of leadership. Boris has been warned for months of a shortage of HGV drivers due to low wages and EU drivers no longer able to work in the UK. The panic buying is a sign that no one believes a word the Government says. Time for Consensus.

The media have created a circular crisis, reported a non existant fuel shortage so people go out and panic buy, allowing them to cover the fuel shortage that they created. The media is the virus.

It is the sum total of weak ineffective leadership from top Government down to local councils over the last 20 years. It needs leaders who own the problem, offer solutions and solve the problem.
