Glad to see the confluence of agricultural experts, policy makers and farmers in the two-day parliament. Certain that the valuable insights through their interactions will greatly help in addressing the evolving needs of our farming community and equip them with the skills and knowledge to enhance their agricultural endeavours. I wish the 3rd Meghalaya Farmers’ Parliament the very best.
In the program we presented the ‘Farmer of the Year’ Award, virtually inaugurated 11 Processing Units and 4 Cold storages in the state and handed over cheques to farmers for FOCUS program and Piggery Mission and to community members for Green Meghalaya initiative.
Joined our farming community today to celebrate the Meghalaya Farmers’ Day and attend the 3rd Meghalaya Farmers’ Parliament in Shillong.
Farmers truly are the backbone of the society and today we recognize the contributions made by the 4.5 lakh agricultural households of Meghalaya in the development of our state. My Govt. has launched various interventions to extend the support our farmers need to improve their livelihoods and double their incomes. Through this platform, the Govt. aims to address the issues and concerns of the farming community and formulate policies for the interest of the farmers.

Held meeting with officials of @nhidcl, Deputy Commissioners, Departments and contractors to review various ongoing road projects in the state. The contractors have been directed to give their deadline on completion of the projects and resolve any issues in consultation with the DCs and Departments. Since winter months are most feasible for construction, the officials have been asked to build their momentum and ensure completion of the projects.

Had a detailed discussion with the IT Department to discuss the roadmap for last mile connectivity in the State. We are going ahead with our plan to lay optical fibers all the way to our Blocks and we expect this project to commence by next year. We are hopeful that by mid year of 2025 all the Blocks and Sub Divisions will be connected by optical fibre.

Glad to see machine manufacturers and sector experts from across the country in NEEMIE to showcase their expertise to our local entrepreneurs. NEEMIE will facilitate machinery and technology support to be within the reach of our entrepreneurs & help them further boost their businesses.
Inaugurated the North East Entrepreneurship Machinery & Innovation Exhibition (NEEMIE) at Polo.
The Entrepreneurial ecosystem in Meghalaya is expanding exponentially and with it, machinery and technical support pose a challenge for our entrepreneurs. Our entrepreneurship program ‘PRIME’ continues to shape the entrepreneurship ecosystem in Meghalaya by not only supporting our entrepreneurs but addressing such gaps.
