Calm down Obaleke, you will not be the one to teach us our religion.Β
I watched the video in the original poster's tweet. The real crux of the video is financial assistance for a hip replacement operation.
But because of your mischievous agenda, you ignored the 90% of the conversation where she was pleading for financial support and hung onto the one part that suits your narrative.Β
In Islamic jurisprudence, the concept of necessity is well established. I make bold to say that no other religion in the world is as comprehensive, practical, and precise in its rulings about necessity than Islam.
In fact, necessity falls directly under the five major legal maxims of Islamic law, known as Al-Qawa'id Al-Kubra.
We have a clear legal maxim that states:
Ψ§ΩΨΆΨ±ΩΨ±Ψ§Ψͺ ΨͺΨ¨ΩΨ Ψ§ΩΩ ΨΨΈΩΨ±Ψ§Ψͺ
Necessities permit the prohibited.
The preservation of life and health is one of the highest objectives of the Shariah. If a medical emergency requires a woman to uncover her face for anesthesia or surgery, she has a full religious concession to do so.Β
There is a clear hierarchy she must follow. She first requests a female Muslim doctor. If one is unavailable, she asks for a female non-Muslim doctor. If that fails, she moves to a male Muslim doctor, and finally a male non-Muslim doctor.
You follow this order based on availability and get the treatment done. Simple as ABC.
We know and understand these rules far better than you do. So when a Muslim errs due to their limited knowledge and understanding of the Deen, it is our exclusive responsibility to correct them, not yours. You cannot own our problems. It is ours, and it is our narrative.
She needs funds for her surgery, and we will reach out to her and offer help. We will also teach her that her Deen gives her the full flexibility to get treated safely without gambling with her health. Keep your mischievous takes to yourself.
Allah knows best.
