“I must not fear, fear is the mind killer. Fear is the little death… I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me & through me & when it has gone past, I will turn the inner eye to see it’s path. Where the fear has gone, there will be nothing. Only I will remain.” -Dune

WARREN BUFFETT ON WHAT TO DO WHEN YOUR STOCKS DROP 50%

On a day like today, this is worth hearing again.

"You're not going to pick the bottom, and nobody else can pick it for you. You've got to be prepared when you buy a stock to have it go down 50% or more and be comfortable with it."

He pointed out that Berkshire Hathaway $BRK.B itself has dropped 50% three different times. "There wasn't anything wrong with Berkshire when those three times occurred."

The people who get hurt, he said, are the ones who borrowed to buy, or who react every time the price moves.

"If you can't handle it psychologically, then you really shouldn't own stocks, because you're going to buy and sell them at the wrong time."

"I don't know whether today is a great day to buy stocks. I know it will work out over 20 or 30 years."

[Philosophy Of Physics @PhilosophyOfPhy]

We were taught that Earth orbits the Sun in a closed circle. In reality, Earth has never returned to the same point in space once in 4.5 billion years.
Right now, the Sun is carrying Earth and every planet around the center of the Milky Way at 230 km/s (828,000 km/h), more than 18,000 kilometers every 80 seconds.

Because the Solar System is tilted 60.2° to the galactic plane and bobs up and down through the galactic disc roughly every 30 million years, the planets trace open 3D corkscrew helices across deep space rather than flat loops.

The last time the Sun stood where it stands today, one Galactic Year (230 million years) ago, the very first dinosaurs were only beginning to appear on Earth. Since forming 4.6 billion years ago, our Sun has completed only 20 laps.

[Geosophy @Geosophyy]

Every second, you move about 230 kilometers through the galaxy. And you never feel it. We picture the solar system like a clock: planets circling a Sun that stays put. But the Sun does not stay put. It is racing around the center of the Milky Way at about 230 km/s (828,000 km/h)

I think this is a very good time for people to watch Mehdi Hasan's debate with Oxford Prof. Emeritus Nigel Biggar.

@KemiBadenoch Isn’t the whole world constantly apologizing for the holocaust ?

[Fulanibo @iboaboki]

@Omotola_gb @ultimate_kombo We’ve never really had structure backing the NG team. NFA has always owed salary etc. Cohesion yes, we’ve always had that and maybe lack that now but the quality we have now is low. How many players now will enter Olisehs national team? Maybe, Osimhen?
