Yes some within the ANC were corrupt, and the damage caused during the wasted nine years of Jacob Zuma was severe. That truth is not denied.
But it is intellectually dishonest and morally lazy to take one paintbrush and smear an entire liberation movement made up of millions of honest, hardworking South Africans.

We do not judge an entire people by the crimes of a few just as we do not blame all doctors for malpractice, or all businesses for corruption.
The ANC has acknowledged its mistakes, publicly and repeatedly.

And let us be clear about history
During apartheid, Black South Africans were subjected to horrific medical crimes, including state-sanctioned experiments, forced exposure to disease, and the deliberate spread of HIV through covert programmes and negligence.
Thousands of Black lives were lost. These were not accidents. They were crimes against humanity.

Yet even here, we do not take one paintbrush and condemn every individual we condemn the system, the ideology, and those who executed these atrocities.

The recently held National General Council (NGC) was organised, disciplined and purposeful exactly what one expects from the engine room of the ANC. That is something the movement, under the leadership of Secretary-General @MbalulaFikile can be proud of.

Renewal does not happen overnight. Rebuilding a damaged state takes time.
But the ANC is rebuilding.

Those rushing to write the obituary of the ANC are in for a very big shock.
Under President Cyril Ramaphosa, supported by leaders like Mbalula, the ANC is more united today than it has been in years.

And let us be very clear
South Africa needs the ANC.
South Africa needs a strong DA.
The alternative is disaster.

To those spreading fear:
• No land has been taken without compensation.
• Even under the new law, land acquisition is based on negotiated agreement.
• If no agreement is reached, the courts decide not politicians.

That is the rule of law. That is constitutional democracy.

South Africa is a beautiful country, with beautiful people, bound by a Constitution admired across the world.

And for the record a significant part of the Jewish community stood side by side with the ANC in the struggle against the terror of apartheid. History does not lie, no matter how uncomfortable it makes some people today.

So think.
Then think again.
And then think properly.

South Africa’s future lies in reform, unity, constitutionalism and renewal not fear-mongering, racial hysteria or historical amnesia.
