As part of enhanced security protocols, all individuals, including police officers, bringing patients to hospital, particularly to emergency units, will be required to present and have their identification documents recorded.
Going forward, no patient will be admitted if dropped off by unidentified or anonymous persons. This policy is critical in safeguarding both patients and healthcare staff and in preventing cases of abandonment, impersonation or criminal activity within our health facilities.
Referral hospitals will work in close coordination with the Ministry of @InteriorKE, particularly through National Government Administrative Officers (NGAOs) and local community leaders, to strengthen social support systems for vulnerable patients.
This collaboration will focus on tracing the families of abandoned individuals, facilitating dignified and well-coordinated discharge processes and ensuring that patients who cannot be reintegrated into society are placed in appropriate long-term care or rehabilitation institutions.
During a community engagement in Lamu County, I reaffirmed the government's commitment to fast-tracking Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and called for strong grassroots participation.

To end medical stock-outs, I spotlighted key KEMSA reforms, including recapitalization, accountability and a digitized supply chain with national track-and-trace to achieve 100% order fill rates in public facilities.
On maternal and child health, I urged families to prioritize immunization and called for improved antenatal and maternity care to reduce preventable deaths.
I also rallied local leaders and communities to support the rollout of the Social Health Authority (SHA), with over 70,000 Lamu residents already enrolled.
Finally, I issued a firm warning against quackery and vowed to enforce professional standards to protect SHA resources and public health.

Visiting my people from Navakholo has truly filled me with a warm sense of nostalgia. Many years ago, I was posted here as a young administrator, and those experiences remain close to my heart. My relationship with the people of Navakholo is genuine and cherished, and I deeply appreciate their hospitality and love.
