Amb. Ibrahim Zanna, the Acting High Commissioner, joined Rwanda &the int’l community to commemorate the 32nd anniversary of the Genocide against the Tutsi (#Kwibuka32) at the Kigali Genocide Memorial, on 7 April 2026. The ceremony was presided over by H.E. President Paul Kagame.
Earlier this month, the Nigeria High Commission in Kigali proudly marked International Women’s Day with a meaningful gathering centered on this year’s theme: “Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls”.
The Acting High Commissioner held a meeting with Elizabeth Babalola (Dean, Undergraduate Programs) and Lucie Kabatesi (Director of Government and External Affairs) to explore areas of cooperation, particularly in supporting Nigerian students at the institution.
The Acting High Commissioner was also guided on a campus tour by Student Ambassador, Meekness Ifeanyi and Student Representative Council President, Jean Paul Gaga.
The highlight of the visit was an engaging Fireside Chat, where the Acting High Commissioner held an interactive conversation with the students on diplomacy, representation and leadership in today’s interconnected world.
