In each dlc of ds2, there’s one area that is kind of gimmicky, this boss/area being one of them. Back in the day, these niche areas served as like a “free demo” for players who didn’t own the dlc. They used to be able to place their sign outside of the dlc doors and get summoned for these niche areas by people who did have the dlc.
