There is no difference between communism and democracy.
While the first one promises you heaven on earth: living under a "perfect" system where everything "is being taken care of", the other one gives you the hope that every four years you could get rid of evil using your vote.
@anarchotaoist@BowTiedMara@hispanicnomad I'm on a Framework laptop. Not only it's good but also repairable. The opposite of a Mac in every possible way. I don't like throwing away laptops, but also nothing lasts forever.
@BowTiedMara@hispanicnomad My last MBP was 2 years old when it died all of a sudden in 2020. Never again. I hated everything about Mac OS so much that I was actually relieved when it died.
10 years of constantly fighting with the OS to do basic things.
TBH I didn't use Windows much. It's probably worse.
@BowTiedMara@hispanicnomad The opposite for me. Been on Mac for 10 years or so (2010-2020) and it's been constant hell. Mac OS is a disaster and the hardware itself kept breaking to the point where I was buying a new mac every 2 years or so. Switched back to Linux and I feel like life is beautiful again.
@hispanicnomad This is assuming you like sun all year round. But after having skipped a few winters, I can say 4 seasons is the best.
Love gray winters. Love autumns. Love springs.
@TheJerzWay This makes sense only if you want to live in Panama or Paraguay.
It is optimizing for the wrong thing.
Most important thing is to live where you actually want to live, not to live somewhere where you can save on taxes.
@mariusbancila@brave_romania Absolutely not. Transnistria does not belong in Romania. Keep the Russians out of here, please! You are free to visit, but the majority of us don't want them around.
