This is just another example of @CitImmCanada @HonAhmedHussen and their international adoption policy run amuck. The bureaucrats are interpreting and making up the laws by themselves with no oversight.

@JaclynLDunham The visa case officers processing manual is very straightforward to process citizenship - all signs point to the IRCC's Intercountry Adoptive Services unit overstepping its mandate to influence international adoptions.

@JaclynLDunham Previously visa case officers in Canadian embassies were to prioritize PR and citizenship apps for adoptive families. "Something" has happened recently and a number of families have seen delays or outright denials of being able to bring children home.

@JaclynLDunham Did you know that there are at least three other families in Africa in similar positions as the Moran's? Makes you wonder if there is a deliberate attempt by IRCC's Intercountry Adoptive Services unit to discourage intercountry adoptions.

Is Canada seeking a goal oriented approach to end international adoptions altogether?

International adoptions from Japan are still suspended five months after this incident and we represent a number of families seeking answers.
