Just graduated, and I'm the only girl on our backend team. 💻
Last week, I spotted a hidden SQL performance issue.
My mentor said, “Not bad for a rookie!”
I don't need someone who talks to me all day.
I just want someone who thinks of me, even when they're busy.
Love isn't about having time. It's about making time. ❤️
I think I've finally figured out why most people struggle to make money on social media.
They're too focused on becoming famous instead of becoming valuable.
Everyone wants to go viral.
Everyone wants 100K followers.
Everyone dreams of becoming the next big influencer.
But here's something interesting.
Someone posts a funny meme, gets 1 million views, and makes $0.
Someone shares a simple Excel trick, gets 5,000 views, and lands a $500 client.
One gets attention. The other gets paid.
And the crazy part?
You don't even need to be exceptionally talented to make money online.
You just need to know something that someone else doesn't.
A skill you've mastered.
A mistake you've learned from.
A problem you've already solved.
Turn that knowledge into content.
Share it consistently.
Build trust with your audience.
Give people a reason to follow you.
The internet doesn't only reward entertaining people. It also rewards useful people.
Maybe the real opportunity isn't becoming the next internet celebrity.
Maybe it's becoming someone that 1,000 strangers genuinely trust.
You don't need millions of followers. You need the right people to trust you.
Anyway, that's my theory.
Now excuse me while I check my analytics for the 47th time today.
12 impressions. 2 likes. Both from myself. 😂
Recently, I realized something.
The biggest mistake people make when trying to earn money through social media is:
They focus on growing followers first and figuring out how to make money later.
So they spend every day chasing trends, hunting for viral topics, and trying to get more views.
AI today. Entrepreneurship tomorrow. Politics the day after.
The views look great. The follower count keeps growing.
But at the end of the month?
Revenue: $0.
The funniest part? Sometimes you don't even know why people are following you.
Then I realized there are two ways to build a business on social media:
1. Build an audience first, then figure out how to monetize it.
2. Find people willing to pay for something, then create content around their needs.
The first approach might require hundreds of thousands of followers to make a decent living.
The second might only need a few hundred loyal customers.
Attention isn't revenue. Followers aren't customers.
Maybe the real question isn't:
"How do I get 100,000 followers?"
It's:
"If I only had 100 followers today, what could I offer them that they'd actually pay for?"
Figuring that out might be worth more than learning 100 different growth hacks.
Of course, I say all this now.
But tomorrow, when I see someone getting a million views on a single post…
I'll probably spend three hours figuring out which hashtags they used. 😂
