@TimAlberta FYI there’s no such thing as “surrounding Philadelphia County.” Philadelphia is a consolidated city-county (has been since 1854). It’s annoying when pundits talk about places yet expose themselves as not knowing the first thing about that place.
@j_mb2008 @Aggie_Matt15 @ckirk Why now you ask? Because now is when people are being heard. Just because you haven’t been hearing people say the statue needs to be removed before now doesn’t mean people haven’t been saying it. All it means people weren’t heard.
@zackbeauchamp Content like this reduces politics to a game. Why not talk about the issues? Why not address the many entrenched interests that don’t want to see the policies Sanders supported be enacted?
@zackbeauchamp What’s the point of this article? To say that Sanders lost, his strategy didn’t work, and leftists don’t agree with liberals? Ok we know that. There’s nothing insightful here, simply a regurgitation of what everyone can plainly see.
Just a reminder that Jeff Bezos and every other billionaire is so rich that they could fund every GoFundMe for medical bills and their quality of life would not change at all. This is why we need a wealth tax.
I don’t mind paying taxes if I see on what am I paying my taxes on.Its sad that we pay so much taxes yet we don’t have free college education neither free healthcare .
Anyone (e.g. @ericswalwell) who talks about gun control and focuses on assault weapons/AR-15s only cares about white lives. Handguns are used 17 times more often in murders than rifles, and murders disproportionately affect POC #DemocraticDebate2020
According to the FBI in 2017 there were 10,982 firearm murders. Out of those with a type of firearm listed, 7,032 were done with handgun; 403 used a rifle.
Told Biden we need someone stronger on reproductive justice, and after his reversal on the Hyde Amendment, we asked him to protect assault survivors. He said “nobody has spoken about it, done more, or changed more than I have”. I told him we deserve better.
I don’t get why ppl not in positions of power (e.g. politicians, CEOs) continue to deny climate change. What benefit do they get? Is it just preserving their consumerist lifestyle? Hearing climate deniers is honestly crazy since we’ve known about this since Arrhenius
my average day this week: drink a double shot of espresso at 11 pm so i can stay awake to work on an essay or report, take melatonin at 2 am when my writing stops making sense, get up at 7:30 am to do it all over again
