▪️The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and the Food Corporation of India (FCI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU to undertake research on alternative fumigation technologies for safe and sustainable management of storage pests in wheat and rice.

▪️The research study is supported by the Department of Food & Public Distribution (DFPD), Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution.

▪️The two-year Phase-I project will be implemented by ICAR–Central Institute of Post-Harvest Engineering and Technology (CIPHET), Ludhiana.

Dr. Abhilaksh Likhi, Secretary, Department of Fisheries, Government of India, chaired a review meeting on the National Surveillance Programme for Aquatic Animal Diseases (NSPAAD) in New Delhi.

The meeting focused on strengthening aquatic animal health, disease surveillance and biosecurity through a review of NSPAAD Phase-I and Phase-II, the Disease Report App and the way forward for strengthening the programme.

Stakeholders discussed enhanced coordination among States and fisheries institutions, wider adoption of disease reporting mechanisms, capacity building and stronger farmer engagement to support sustainable aquaculture growth and India’s seafood export competitiveness.

The meeting was attended by representatives from State Fisheries Departments, @icarindia fisheries institutions, @nfdb_india , @MPEDACOCHIN , EIC, CAA and other key stakeholders.

देशभर के किसानों के हितों की रक्षा के साथ ही उनकी आय में बढ़ोतरी के लिए हम कोई कोर-कसर नहीं छोड़ रहे हैं। इसी दिशा में हमारी सरकार ने 2027-28 के मार्केटिंग सीजन के लिए रबी फसलों के न्यूनतम समर्थन मूल्य यानि एमएसपी में वृद्धि को मंजूरी दी है। इससे देश के करोड़ों किसान भाई-बहनों को उनकी उपज का लाभकारी मूल्य मिलना सुनिश्चित होगा।
