ICAW's first Shrimp Welfare Report is here. 🦐

We’ve ranked major retailers across six European countries on two key standards — ending eyestalk ablation and adopting pre-slaughter electric stunning.

Transparency matters, and this ranking shows who’s leading (and who’s lagging) in shrimp welfare.

💡 Some highlights:
• As part of the report, 2 new shrimp commitments were made! Jumbo in the Netherlands and Les Mousquetaires, first retailer in France to adopt higher shrimp welfare standards.
• A total of 11 retailers are committed to both standards in Europe, demonstrating that shrimp welfare is truly gaining momentum.

🚨 New undercover footage reveals shocking abuse at Europe’s largest duck farm supplying Pingo Doce—operated through a joint venture with Ahold Delhaize (@AholdDelhaize).

📹 Ducks kicked, grabbed by the throat, and thrown.
🐥 Ducklings dumped in bins with the dead.
🦆 Live animals discarded among corpses.

This is the reality behind Pingo Doce’s own-brand duck.
Ahold Delhaize has already broken its longest-standing cage-free pledge, showing a disturbing pattern of delay and deception. Now, investor, consumer, and reputational risks are mounting.

We urge Ahold Delhaize to act immediately:
