3/4 There should no longer be any debate whether intravascular imaging use should be routine. DES are class I in the guidelines vs. BMS for reduction of TLR only, w/o reducing death, MI or ST. In contrast, OCT/IVUS improves survival and reduces MI, and ST, as well as TLR.

It was with deep sadness that PCR and the interventional community learnt today of the sudden passing of Alain Cribier.

Professor Cribier changed the face of cardiology forever by creating the transcatheter aortic valve #TAVI, but above all he was a true gentleman, a kind-hearted and generous person, who endeared himself to his colleagues and cared deeply about his patients.

Our most sincere and heartfelt condolences to Alain Cribier's family, colleagues and loved ones - may he rest in peace.
