@anderwreckz@jxc@MoJGovUK True, but @Jess4Lowestoft has personally admitted responsibility for the amendment that added vague and ridiculously broad definitions of strangulation and choking.
@Cartoffelpuffer@hellolilithlowe If people are going to campaign against this law then I think this is the weak point to go for. The vagueness is either intentional or incompetence, neither of which are defensible.
@Jess4Lowestoft@CobaltCherry As of yesterday I can watch a blowjob in real life, but if I do it over a webcam everyone goes to jail. How on earth can you possibly claim this is parity?
@Jess4Lowestoft@jen31_jones Why are you still refusing to explain exactly what your amendment does and does not permit? Is it because you don’t know, or because you want a large section of the population to live in fear?
If she can take well reasoned calm criticism of her shocking inability to explain her own amendment, help anyone understand what she’s actually banned or even grasp the basic concept that it’s the prosecution’s job to prove guilt, then why is she deleting her tweets?
My friend @Jess4Lowestoft is a hero and a champion for women and children’s safety every single day.
Disagree with her if you want, she can take it. But the horrific character attacks this week should give us all pause about what our politics has become
Proud of you Jess x
@MoJGovUK I followed Government guidance https://t.co/MkDbgpb9Mr and threw a porn DVD in a bin yesterday because it contained kissing (covering a mouth) and missionary position sex (compressing a chest) Will you sue the Council who possess the DVD, or will enforcement be arbitrary?
@Jess4Lowestoft@CobaltCherry This simply isn’t true. Possession of offline pornography that showed restriction of the airways was perfectly legal until your new law. Why are you lying about this?
Now Russell Brand's been convicted of rape, we need to talk about Sylvie Berki. Because she can't speak for herself.
In 2014, Ms Berki said she'd been assaulted by Russell Brand.
But if she talks about it, even now, she risks jail.
📢 ANNOUNCEMENT ‼️
Some important developments behind the scenes.
Over recent weeks, I've been researching and writing about proposed changes to UK pornography legislation, the wider implications for the adult industry, and some of the difficult questions surrounding personal freedom, consent and regulation.
But I've never been particularly interested in simply raising questions and voicing opinions without exploring what can be done about them.
So I've taken the next step.
The initial signatures for my parliamentary petition are now secured, and it's awaiting review.
There's much more I want to share about the petition, the reasoning behind it and what I hope it might achieve.
Regardless of the petition's outcome, I intend to continue exploring every legitimate and practical avenue available to ensure our voices are heard where decisions are made, and to advocate for the changes our community needs.
A special thank you to Kaz B, Ruby Onyx, Mistress Bash, and those who wish to remain anonymous, for stepping forward so quickly to help get this moving. Your support is genuinely appreciated.
I'll also be sharing practical guidance on the steps we can take to make our voices heard, including who to contact, where to direct our concerns, and templates and documents to help people take action themselves.
More on this soon.
For now, I'll leave you with this thought.
Meaningful change often begins with the willingness to question what others accept.
And on that note, I'm off to delete years of hard work and memories.
I'll be back with more soon…

P.S if this matters to you, please share. The more voices we reach, the better 🫶

@Emsbarr@soniasodha@Jess4Lowestoft Did you check the context before posting this? The criticism of @Jess4Lowestoft for writing a vague overreaching law, admitting she doesn’t know what it bans then posting (and deleting) an image linking blowjobs to cancer is actually entirely valid, because she did exactly that.
@soniasodha@Jess4Lowestoft If you think an MP should be writing laws with no idea of their impact and then refuse to clarify glaring ambiguities then fine, criticise the replies, but don’t expect to get much public support.
@soniasodha@Jess4Lowestoft The context is that she took responsibility for the law banning types of porn, but admitted she wasn’t sure what exactly she’s banned. When asked if “restricting airways” includes giving blow jobs, instead of clarifying she posted (then deleted) a graphic linking bjs to cancer.
@YouGov If you only ask about the more extreme things this law bans of course you’ll get favourable responses. Why not ask about the banning of face-sitting, deep throat, pretending to be step-siblings, kissing in the missionary position, etc?
