@oddstingskjer@chatwithcharles@Officially_MK_ I may have some skills, yes, but I don’t agree that salary and intelligence are connected.
Take people in government, many are millionaires and are very clueless in their jobs and in life, lol.
I have a friend doing cutting-edge research at university, earning like 40k lol.
Average salary for a CTO in the UK is around 200k.
And those jobs are very, very rare.
You’re talking about being at one of the top 100 companies in the UK.
Earning less consistently is better for some people than earning more for a short time.
In my previous role, I was at one of the top 10 biggest companies in the UK, and it took them two years to find a new CTO lol
I think the previous CTO still hasn’t found a new job after a year so his money has defo ran out by now.
I don’t know if I agree - I don’t think salary and intelligence can be connected.
From what I’ve seen, people who earn lots of money are mostly idiots lol.
It’s all luck 😂 I earn more money than 99% of people in the UK, and I promise I’m average in intelligence. I don’t believe it changes at leadership level.
@TheSaneClowns@jpcafe10@Officially_MK_ I earn more than that now but I can be fired at any time.
I’d defo take 80k if it meant i’d be safe for the next 40 years sign me up AI is coming and people are getting fired everyday lol
I want security 😂

@V16_Warthog@Officially_MK_ My guess is they gave them a lump sum, say 5k + one month’s salary for however many years they’ve been working there.
So those people are all on holiday for the next 12 months.
@jpcafe10@Officially_MK_ Senior developers can be fired at any time.
Public sector jobs pay less because they’re secure.
People work in those roles for 60 years lol.
@Greenboat6@Officially_MK_ I don’t think Reform have the ability to win because 80-90% of the UK won’t vote for them.
They’d also have bigger fish to fry lol
China has the supply chain, cheap labour and less rights for people who own land.
The UK does not have that type of supply chain and we have rights for workers and there would be a war if the government just took peoples land and said fuck you deal with the noise etc
It doesn’t make sense comparing the UK and China.
@angelos42195@Officially_MK_ That’s not really connected.
When they started working the engineers noticed the ground was made from candy floss lol.
Also inflation and Brexit happened so it makes sense why the cost doubled.
Look at the cost of a can of coke 15 years ago compared to today lol.
