Talk about delayed rotation! Do you see how long he resisted rotations and the height he reached? 🤯😳 #HANYUYUZURU’s delayed single axel is fantastic, beautiful, out of this world.
@_yuzu4A_ Who doesn’t fall in their first competition? At least it didn’t hurt nearly as much as a jump fall would have. Right? Bravo for including even a sit spin. I’ve been telling my coach excuses for not going to a competition. You’re my inspiration! ⛸️
@Henni147 I$V labels skaters who left the competitive chapter of their skating life as being "retired" probably because it along with its subsidiaries could no longer milk them or take a cut out of their sponsorships. It's a self-serving system.
Is there a separate entity for pro skaters?
He makes it look easy, but it’s anything but. I didn’t know how hard it is until I tried. It takes tremendous core and leg strength, flexibility, and turnout to pull this off.

@sarah_sohma@ameba_official Indeed, his balance is so good moving his arms around doesn’t disturb it at all, and it takes a lot of strength and coordination to get up gracefully from the deep sit spin position. He is utterly in control of spins. A true master!
Like many others, I’m obsessed with the graceful lunge Yuzu did in #エストポリス伝記2, so I asked AI what one needs to do to be able to do it. I got answers for both on-ice and off-ice training 👇 , which seem pretty on-point.

@coldshoulders4 Yeah, look at the line his thighs form. I could do a split, but I could come nowhere near that line. And like you, if I try to really push it, then getting up is a struggle, let alone looking graceful 😅
@_yuzu4A_ 3h! So that's 6h round trip?! It takes a devoting soul to do that much driving for skating, what, 2 hours?
You've just provided a big boost to my motivation for doing off-ice training!
Best of luck in preparing your competitive program! I hope to see it if you cared to share.
@Henni147@hopeandyuzu In addition to being the solo performer, he is also the producer, which is no small task, either. How he does it is truly remarkable.
@Henni147@Aotearoa_BTFSF Yuzu and JC are my favorite skaters. The first time I saw JC's skating video, I was so awe-struck I watched all his other videos I could find and read his biography. He was a virtuoso in blending artistry and superb skills. He even choreographed most of his programs.
These are such wonderful interviews! Lots of things I never saw Yuzu talk about until now, and in such depth! His thoughts on various things, early years of his skating, etc., after reading these I feel no wonder his skating resonates with so many people.

@japantimes “where others failed” - why don’t you name directly who “failed?” By what standard?
“the need for people to go digging into his private life” - “people”?? Who are they? Or, might it be “in the name of people” but actually it’s the media greed and intrusion?
@pep_on_@Hanyusmiles I’ve presented papers at academic conferences. I haven’t been able to get a ticket for any of Hanyu kun’s ice shows so far. So, in my own case, the latter is much harder. My consolation is I did see him in person when he was competing. Ahhh, those good old days.
