๐ฌ๐ฒ๐ฌ๐ฒ: Gambiaโs Minister of Information, Dr. Ismaila Ceesay, has stated that he is experiencing the same prolonged power outages as ordinary citizens in the Greater Banjul Area and does not own a solar power system. He pushed back against public criticism suggesting that senior government officials are insulated from the electricity crisis through generators or alternative sources, emphasizing that he shares the same frustrations as many Gambian households.
While acknowledging the hardship caused by the ongoing blackouts, Dr. Ceesay described the situation as a temporary challenge rather than a failure, assuring the public that authorities are actively working to restore stable electricity supply in the coming weeks. The comments come amid widespread discontent over extended power cuts that have severely affected daily life, businesses, and services in recent weeks.

๐ฌ๐ฒ๐ฌ๐ฒ: Ismaila Ceesay says improvements in The Gambiaโs healthcare system are attracting patients from neighboring countries.
He said government investments in hospital infrastructure, modern equipment, and specialized services such as cardiology, neurosurgery, dialysis, and orthopedics have improved healthcare delivery and reduced the need for overseas treatment.
Dr. Ceesay also highlighted upgraded dialysis units, CT scans, digital X-ray machines, and centralized oxygen systems, while stressing that effective healthcare depends on both infrastructure and qualified medical personnel.
