@DE_Gifford I don't think all are trying to profit at our expense, but there are far too many businesses, NGOs/"nonProfits", & welfare exploiters that are taking us for a ride.
@DE_Gifford Unfortunately there is a lack of transparency in both Gov't & companies that are very dependent on Gov't (taxpayer) funding for their revenue....or monopolies like Consumers & DTE.
I'm aggressively pro transparency on all Gov't expenditures. Then we can measure if things work.
@CraigDMauger But that would be one less thing for the Dems to use to stir up their base for fundraising and motivating them to vote.
All part of the game.
@DE_Gifford Who do you think pays for Gov't programs?
It's all a burden on consumers/citizens/taxpayers.
Gov't is notorious for being fraught w/ waste/fraud/abuse because no true accountability.
While not perfect, there is more scrutiny on that spending when people have skin in the game.
@shoesonplease I believe this is an unfortunate but natural reaction to the left pushing identity politics so hard.
The reflex from some on the right is to assume someone female or non white didn't earn it.
It's a self-perpetuating machine now feeding the ugliest parts of partisan left v right.
@FiringLineShow She single handedly ruined lives with her COVID lockdowns.
We've dropped in every key metric since she was elected, and it got even worse under the Dem trifecta.
@returnJohnLocke@doc_gero@hbf_alex I saw both movies in IMAX opening weekend for the record. I love movies & wanted to form my own opinion. Supergirl was ok but forgetable like the recent Superman (he's a good Superman casting tho). I don't like how they wrote her character/arc & I'm done w/Krypto at this point.
@returnJohnLocke@doc_gero@hbf_alex Supergirl was a bit boring & drab, & they certainly had their woman grief moments w/the Super"girl" v "woman" talk. MotU was way more fun but too long. The robot had culture war lines. I bet that character was sidelined/edited out because it was even heavier handed originally.
@feelsdesperate The problem is Dems are a Big Gov't cult & vote in EVERY election.
Whereas conservative leaning people & normies aren't power-hungry collectivists & have poor/inconsistent turnout.
@evanwch Problem is they run as moderates then go hard left after elected. See Virginia Governor.
Michigan, Illinois, California are hurting because of the terrible policies promoted by progressives.
They are anti business (other than their handpicked buddies/NGOs) & pro welfare/Gov't.
