π Join Us at AI UK 2025! π Are you interested in cutting-edge sea ice forecasting and its applications? Stop by our stand between 17-18th March 2025 at the @QEIICentre, London to learn more about our work at the @BAS_News and partners. https://t.co/oW8yGhRF2N #AIUK@turinginst
IceNet's maintainer Bryn is trialling new plots on Sea Ice Probability. It shows probability that sea ice concentration is over a threshold (15%) across an ensemble of runs. Through time, you can start to see the ensemble variability. Values of 1 mean perfect agreement in members
Congrats and best of luck to the BAS AI Lab + @turinginst π€π
They're shortlisted for the Frederik Paulsen Arctic Academic Action Award - winner announced tonight at @_Arctic_Circle.
Their project is @icenet_ai, an AI programme that will accurately forecast changes in sea ice.
The IceNet team is delighted to announce that we've been nominated for the @_Arctic_Circle's Frederik Paulsen Arctic Academic Action Award, which recognises innovative ideas that address the impacts of climate change in the Arctic. See you in Reykjavik!π§

IceNet is at #AIUK! Come and talk to our @BAS_News and @turinginst team about sea ice forecasting with deep learning, operationalising research code, and decision support tools for conserving endangered Arctic species.
Woohoo, @icenet_ai at a conference with @BAS_News@turinginst. IceNet's expertise is sea ice forecasting, so the photo's not great, but hey ho. Come say hello!!! #AIUK π§ π§ π§ π§ π§
Just fired up IceNet after a year of hibernation. I like flicking between these Arctic sea ice edge forecasts for July 2021 and July 2022 - same time of the year, different initial conditions, and IceNet responding to that with pretty accurate forecasts! #basailab
Big congratulations to @tom_r_andersson at @BAS_News for winning the @WMO "Young Scientist of the Year Award"! Well deserved πππ
Tom's work is expanding the usefulness and interpretability of #MachineLearning in the Earth system sciences. Very cool π
